Bringing a new life into this world can be such an exciting moment for you and your family, whether this baby is your first, second or fifth child. Your Newborn session is a very special milestone and I want to help you capture this fleeting moment. Newborn sessions are designed for babies 30 days and younger. The best time to photograph your little one is from day five to day ten. During this time newborns tend to be sleepier and retain that fresh newborn curl. We do accept newborns up to a 6 weeks old, but the earlier the shoot the better. if for whatever reason you cannot book during those first precious weeks for a newborn shoot, just message me and we can organise a specialised shoot!

I understand the importance of capturing all the tiny details and milestone moments, this is why I include family and sibling shots in ALL of my packages. While family shots are included, they are not compulsory! If you have any photo ideas or specific images you want, make sure to send them through and we can make your dream photos come true!

I only offer in home sessions - I find it makes for a more comfortable environment for freshly post-partum mums. The shoots are best done in a spacey but warm room with lots of natural light - If you don't have a lot of natural light, don't stress, I have lighting I can bring with me! I have multiple props, posing bowls, nests and wraps that I will bring along bring with me, including a beanbag for posed shots of baby - colours, themes and props can be discussed upon booking.

My full newborn sessions typically take 2-4 hours, but plan on your newborn session being 6 hours (just to be safe). Because of this I typically schedule newborn sessions in the morning, around nine or ten. Babies also tend to be sleepier at this time of day. I am not shooting the entire 2-4 hours. Much of this time is spent switching blankets and props, getting baby fed or diaper changed/cleaning up messes and soothing baby into poses. A fussy or wide awake baby who is unwilling to fall into a deep sleep can also effect the length of the shoot. During a full shoot I typically do 4-5 setups with different poses and props. This includes “studio style” family and sibling images. I will provide all the props and necessary equipment for the shoot, all you need to provide is the baby and the space!

If you are after a quicker and simpler shoot that isnt so time intensive but you still want the “studio style” images - I have a wrapped mini shoot available which includes 2 set ups.

I also have the lifestyle package which is designed to be an "unposed" documentary style shoot. Don't worry I will still lightly pose you and provide direction. The poses will mostly consist of family and sibling snuggles on a bed, baby in the cot / bassinet and breastfeeding shots in your comfort spot. This session is available for those who don't want the posed studio style shots, but still want to capture the newness of bub.

All Newborn packages include a full online gallery of high resolution edited images. Additional "in-depth" edits (extreme blemish removal, head swaps, extreme background changes) can be purchased for $10 per image. All albums and images are delivered via an online gallery and are downloadable high resolution digital files.
